Margaret Klawunn

Dear Student:

UC Santa Barbara is a dynamic and vibrant campus community committed to diversity, and of course, academic excellence. The Division of Student Affairs advances the education, research, and service mission of the University by providing programs and services that contribute to students’ academic achievement, personal growth, wellbeing, and success.

I hope you enjoy The Black Book: Community Resource Guide that highlights many of the programs, resources, opportunities, cultural events, and services that are available to you. Some of those within the Division of Student Affairs include the African diasporic Cultural Resource Center (AdCRC), Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the MultiCultural Center (MCC), and the Office of Black Student Development (OBSD). OBSD is home for Black undergraduate and graduate students, a place that cares for them, supports them, celebrates them, and promotes their success; it’s a place where students can meet and engage other students, staff, and faculty who are part of UC Santa Barbara’s Black community. There are also many student organizations that may be of interest to you, as well as local resources and services that I encourage you to explore.

I am excited to share our services and look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,
Margaret Klawunn
Vice Chanellor for Student Affairs
