Wendy Eley Jackson

A Bit about Me

Wendy is a Lecturer at the University of California Santa Barbara where she teaches basic & advanced screenwriting for television, contemporary screenwriters, creative writing and film as literature. She is also founder and executive producer of Auburn Avenue Films. A native of Atlanta, GA, she brings 30 plus years of television broadcasting and film experience to industry.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in English Literature, and an M.F.A. in screenwriting from the University of Georgia, Eley Jackson’s vast experience in the film & television industry spans from SONY Pictures Television, where she developed made for television movies, to advertising and marketing with Turner Broadcasting, and developing TV pilots for major studios & networks. Most recently, she’s received the prestigious Producers Guild Mark (p.g.a) for her producing work on the critically acclaimed and award-winning feature length documentary, MAYNARD (Netflix). Wendy served as Executive Producer of feature documentaries, Welcome to Pine Lake (CBSN), and CARTERLAND, the official documentary of President Jimmy Carter, (Gravitas Ventures). Currently, her production company has completed the short doc, The Invitation and now it’s in the festival circuit.

She is also currently filming, Counting The Ballots (Director & Producer), PILGRIM: The Untold Story of MLK Jr. and Ghandi (Producer), Protect & Serve with Martin Luther King, III (Producer) with Calabasas Films. Wendy is also the co-writer of scripted limited series, Ella & Marilyn, and is the writer of feature films, Orange Blossom and First Kiss for the Hallmark Network. Her most recent feature length screenplay, 30 Days a Black Man: The Forgotten Story of Jim Crow is an adaptation of the award winning book by Bill Stiegerwald. A true believer in the power of “collaborative storytelling”, her company, Auburn Avenue Films, has become a “go to” curator for content creation developed out of Georgia into Hollywood.
