Marco Muñoz

Marco is a Queer and Trans Latino UCSB alumn from Los Angeles, California. He graduated with the Class of 2022 with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Brain Sciences. He started working with the RCSGD in the second year of his Undergraduate Career as an Office Assistant before transitioning into the roles of Volunteer Coordinator (2019-2022), Interim Program Coordinator (2021-June 2022), and currently the Program Coordinator position. While earning his Bachelor's Degree and working for the RCSGD, Marco was also an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Social Cognitive Development Lab where he worked on completing his Senior Honors Thesis focusing on children's perceptions of biracial children's identity claims. He draws strength, inspiration, hope, and courage from his ties to his QT and POC identity and community. His goal for the time he spends with the RCSGD is to create affirming spaces for folks from marginalized communities. Marco resonates with undergraduate students, particularly those who also are a part of the Queer and Trans Latinx community.

Outside of his professional role, Marco spends time searching through local bookstores for QT books, scrolling through social media, and listening to music as a way to heal and escape into his daydreams. Come talk to him about program suggestions, volunteering opportunities, and ways to get involved on campus!
