Student Affairs Student Cabinet 2024-2025
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is accepting applications for the 2024-25 Student Affairs Student Cabinet (SASC), a unique leadership opportunity for students to get involved in student life and advocacy!
We are seeking interested individuals who would like to serve as student representatives on the Student Affairs Cabinet to leave a lasting impact at UCSB. The Student Cabinet will serve as a think tank that brainstorms and makes recommendations on how the Division of Student Affairs can improve the student experience and address campus issues. It is a space for student collaboration within the Division of Student Affairs by offering insights into your experiences as a student.
Selected members of the SASC will provide feedback on numerous policies and programs, discuss campus improvement, and utilize this platform to address student life, safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Moreover, members will establish strong network ties within Student Affairs and gain professional development skills and experience (e.g. networking, resume building, etc). The Cabinet is expected to convene biweekly starting later this quarter. Exact meeting dates will be established at a later time.
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is offering SASC members a stipend of $300, which will be incorporated into their existing financial aid award. Receiving this stipend may affect other financial aid. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships for more information.
The SASC was created as a resource to gain insight into student needs and to serve as a space to discuss ideas on collaboration and efficiency within the Division of Student Affairs.
